About the role

Tourism Australia is seeking an experienced anddynamicHead of Procurement tomanage the procurement team andthe fullprocurement and contract management functions including mitigating governance risks by ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and internal procurement policies as well as providing expert advice to stakeholders on planning developing sourcing and managing procurement and contract arrangements.

This role is a permanent full-time opportunityreporting to the Executive General Manager Corporate Servicesbased in ourSydneyoffice. You willbe responsiblefor:

  • Mentoring and leadinga high performingprocurement team
  • Providingexpert advice to stakeholders including participating in evaluation panels for major procurements and deliveringregular training to staff
  • Leadingand managing high valueprocurements
  • Supportingcommercial negotiations with prospective partners
  • Providingspecialist and technical adviceon procurementand contract managementmattersand seeking professionaladvice from probity and other professional externalpartners where
  • Managingthe effective implementation of the new procurement & contractmanagement platformand any future enhancements that may berequired
  • Buildingand managingrelationships with key stakeholders to provide insights on business needs resolve issues andeffectivelydeliveranddemonstratedelivery ofvalue for moneyoutcomes
  • Designingand coordinatingthe delivery ofcomprehensive trainingprograms
  • Preparingreports asforkeystakeholders
  • Lead liaison with internal and external auditors and ANAO on procurementmattersmanageaudit fieldwork and implement governance recommendations
  • Setting thestrategic direction for procurementincludingplanningand manage the review and development of procurement policiesproceduresand guidelines

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Finance or Procurement
  • A CIPS qualification is highly regarded
  • At least 10 years in a senior business advisory or procurement role including a minimum of 2 years within a Commonwealth government agencyor department
  • Deep knowledge ofAusTenderprocessesand governmenttenderpanels
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to lead and drive outcomes
  • Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and communicate complex contractual information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Demonstratedexperienceinworkingeffectivelyinfast-paced high-performing cross-cultural and professional teams
  • Willingness to be flexiblewith working hours as part of a multinational organisation
