Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in from an accredited institution in Accounting Finance Public Administration or closely related field.
- Five (6years of full-time professional experience in budgeting financial planning or related governmental accounting work.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education experience and/or certifications may be considered.
- Experience and proficiency with personal computer and Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook Teams).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in from an accredited institution in Accounting Finance Public Administration or closely related field.
- Budgeting financial planning or accounting work in a Florida public school district.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the preparation of the annual School Board budget.
- Ensure that all budget transactions are handled in an efficient and accurate manner and are in accordance with the regulations and policies of the School Board.
- Assume responsibility for the proper processing of all budget amendments.
- Supervise the preparation of all state budget amendments for consideration and approval by the School Board.
- Provide assistance and training to school principals and staff on budget-related matters.
- Organize and train support and administrative staff in budget policies practices and procedures.
- Assume responsibility and authority for the Budget Department during any absence of the Director.
- Participate on a variety of committees and teams as required to represent the Budget Department
- Provide oversight to all division priorities and projects that assist in achieving the objectives of the Districts strategic plan.
- Review policies and procedures continuously in order to make recommendations to improve upon and standardize processes.
- Inspect and analyze operations regularly within the area of assignment to take action to continuously improve procedures services and support to schools and work locations.
- Identify and resolve District issues with reference to higher authority as may be required for corrective action.
- Assist in the preparations and issuance of various internal monthly and annual reports that accurately represent District activities.
- Lead and/or attend various meetings to communicate information and advise recommend and make presentations developed to present technical proposals/plans/documentation.
- Perform project management duties including planning prioritizing and coordinating and determine and deploy resources required to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget ensuring project objectives are fulfilled.
- Ensure all budget transactions are handled in an efficient and accurate manner in accordance with federal state and local regulations contract agreements and policies of the Board.
- Generate creative solutions to District challenges.
- Prepare recommendations for School Board meeting agendas and attend School Board meetings as needed.
- Lead and monitor division/departmental progress toward attainment of division strategic goals and objectives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
