Civil Trial Attorney
As a Civil Trial Attorney you will play a key role in managing insurance defense matters from inception through resolution. This position offers the opportunity to serve as first-chair on cases develop litigation strategy and work directly with clients while being supported by a collaborative and experienced legal team.
You will be trusted with significant responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of your cases while also benefiting from mentorship resources and a firm culture that values excellence and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle insurance defense litigation matters including first-chair courtroom litigation
- Develop and execute effective defense strategies and litigation plans
- Manage case budgets evaluate exposure and assess risk
- Conduct legal research draft pleadings motions and discovery
- Represent clients in hearings depositions mediations and trials
- Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and responsiveness
- Demonstrate sound judgment negotiation skills and strategic thinking throughout the lifecycle of a case
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of insurance defense litigation experience including first-chair trial experience
- Strong working knowledge of South Carolina substantive and procedural law as well as federal procedural rules
- Proven ability to analyze cases formulate litigation strategies and manage costs
- Excellent academic credentials with strong research writing and oral advocacy skills
- Highly motivated detail-oriented and client-focused
- Demonstrated record of successful negotiation and case resolution
