About the Role

A leading organization in the financial sector is lookingfor a Market Risk Monitoring and Reporting Officer to join its Operationsteam in Portugal.

This role is focused on ensuring high-quality datafeeding Market and Counterparty Risk systems developing and improving KPIframeworks supporting governance committees and driving continuousimprovements through automation and process optimization.

You will play a key role in delivering transparency andactionable insights to Senior Management ensuring decision-makers havea clear view of operational performance and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

Data Quality & KPIGovernance

• Design implement and maintain KPIs to monitor data quality (accuracy completeness timeliness).
• Monitor trends detect anomalies and ensure compliance with internal standards.
• Continuously improve KPI methodologies and reporting frameworks.

Committee Support & Executive Reporting

• Prepare reporting packs and materials for monthly governance committees.
• Present KPI analysis operational insights and improvement recommendations.
• Translate complex technical data into clear executive-level summaries.

Incident Management & Remediation

• Extract and analyze system incidents impacting risk data quality.
• Conduct statistical investigations to identify recurring issues and inefficiencies.
• Coordinate with IT and subject-matter experts to identify root causes.
• Deliver structured findings for leadership review and decision-making.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Review workflows (including Market Risk Stress Testing indicators) to identify bottlenecks.
• Improve and industrialize processes through automation and documentation.
• Support daily operational activities: troubleshooting ad-hoc queries user support.
• Promote innovation aligned with internal policies and regulatory expectations.

Financial Data Analysis & Visualization

• Analyze complex financial and risk datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Build impactful reports dashboards and visualizations using Excel / Power BI.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of Market Risk
• Knowledge of Stress Testing techniques
• Solid IT background especially Python
• Strong SQL skills
• Advanced reporting skills with Excel and/or Power BI

Key Soft Skills

• Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work as a bridge between Risk IT and Business teams
• Experience supporting Agile/Scrum environments (testing documentation feature validation)
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving approach
• Ability to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders
