Job Goal:
The LIFT Bilingual Campus Coach supports Region 6 ESC districts and campuses in implementing the Leadership & Instructional Foundations for Texas (LIFT) framework with a specific focus on bilingual and emergent bilingual student success. The coach partners with district leaders campus administrators instructional coaches and teachers to strengthen bilingual instructional systems support High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) implementation and improve outcomes for emergent bilingual learners through training coaching and data-informed continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate required
Bilingual and/or ESL certification required
Ability to earn and maintain required LIFT and Approved Provider certifications
Experience
Experience coaching in bilingual and/or ESL instructional settings
Experience supporting emergent bilingual teachers in standards-aligned instruction
Experience with curriculum implementation PLCs and instructional coaching
Experience supporting campus or district improvement initiatives
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Campus & System Assessment
Assess campus context and readiness for LIFT implementation with attention to bilingual programming models and services
Analyze instructional systems staffing and schedules supporting emergent bilingual students
Examine technical and adaptive conditions impacting bilingual instruction including language practices collaboration and educator mindsets
Collaborate with LIFT District Coaches to interpret diagnostic and campus-level data related to emergent bilingual student access and performance
Strategic Planning & Change Management
Build strong trust-based relationships with bilingual educators campus leaders and system leaders
Develop shared understanding of LIFT goals bilingual program expectations and HQIM implementation for emergent bilingual learners
Support campus leaders in aligning bilingual instructional systems and routines to LIFT and HQIM expectations
Collaborate with district and campus leaders to design multi-year LIFT supports that strengthen bilingual instruction and language development
Training Coaching and Capacity Building
Provide or support professional learning for campus leaders focused on effective bilingual instructional systems and leadership practices
Deliver job-embedded coaching that strengthens teacher implementation of HQIM for emergent bilingual students
Support campus leaders in coaching teachers using data-driven high-leverage action steps grounded in student work and observation data
Support implementation of research-based instructional strategies (RBIS) scaffolds and language supports embedded in Bluebonnet Learning materials
Build campus and teacher ownership of bilingual instructional practices to ensure sustainability
Monitoring Data Use and Communication
Monitor student learning outcomes language development and access to grade-level instruction for emergent bilingual students
Analyze fidelity of HQIM implementation in bilingual classrooms
Monitor fidelity of implementation (FOI) aligned to LIFT and grant requirements
Communicate progress successes and challenges related to bilingual instruction to campus leaders and LIFT District Coaches
Adjust campus support strategies collaboratively in response to data and campus needs
Program & Professional Responsibilities
Earn and maintain required certifications related to LIFT and bilingual supports
Engage actively in coaching reflection and continuous improvement as a member of the Region 6 ESC LIFT team
Complete required documentation data collection and reporting with fidelity
Knowledge and Skills
Deep knowledge of bilingual education and instruction for emergent bilingual learners
Understanding of HQIM implementation within bilingual and dual language settings
Skill in facilitating adult learning and leading professional development
Ability to analyze data related to language development and instructional practice
Strong communication collaboration and relationship-building skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:None
Work Environment
Frequent travel to assigned districts and campuses
Work conducted in school district and professional learning settings
Occasional evening or extended-hour commitments based on campus needs
