Job Summary

Air Liquide began operations in Malaysia in 1927 and is one of the pioneers of the gas industry in Malaysia. Operating in 11 locations in Malaysia comprising both sales offices and production facilities Air Liquide supports our customers through providing innovative solutions at every step of their production including industrial and specialty gases energy solutions application technologies and services. Summary:
The Specialty Gas Manager acts as the bridge between Group strategies and local operations. The core mission is to drive industrial performance ensure strict compliance with Group standards for Specialty Gases (SG) and serve as the Business Process Owner (BPO) to optimize workflows and asset utilization across the cluster.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW

  • Collaborate with the Cluster Packaged Gas team to drive the Clusters industrial performance strategy ensuring strict adherence to the PMS framework governance and reporting standards while leading regular performance reviews to meet Group-aligned targets.

  • Oversee the quality implementation of corrective actions and mandatory programs ensuring key lessons are documented and shared while actively collaborating with the Cluster team to secure funding for critical Group Industrial Initiatives.

  • Drive the strategic planning process by acting as the technical authority for some entities assets proactively managing asset renewal and asset extension lifetime studies and assessing equipment utilization rates to propose such as reallocation plans that optimize Clusters resources.

  • Lead the end-to-end management of selected Cluster industrial projectsfrom aligning with the entities on project selection to collecting subsidiary specificationswhile supervising the execution of core missions to ensure they meet industrial and business performance targets.

  • Collaborate with procurement and global entities to optimize the total landed cost and reliability of raw material and product supply chains at EAP boundaries while defining weekly/monthly (S&OE) and annual (S&OP) planning to support strategic planning.

  • Supervise the execution of core missions monitoring their impact on industrial performance and setting action plans accordingly.

  • Maximize profitability within EAP boundaries by jointly reviewing entity setups and trading product portfolios while actively monitoring asset profitability across Business Lines to propose and drive improvement plans.

  • Collaborate with procurement and the operations controller to define long-term third-party sourcing strategies commercial development plans and precise landed cost allocations (localizing Group policies) to establish minimum costing guidelines.

  • Lead the deployment of standards mandatory SG programs and the digital roadmap across the Cluster acting as the Business Process Owner to steer implementation close compliance gaps and ensure strict adherence to Group policies for assets and processes.

  • Drive knowledge transfer and competency development through field coaching and engage expert support to subsidiaries while closely collaborating with entities and global stakeholders to implement technical standards and value initiatives.

Are you a MATCH

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations or industrial direction with a specific focus on Specialty Gases within the industrial gas sector.

  • In-depth understanding of industrial gas processes specifically in manufacturing and logistics utilizing a holistic end-to-end perspective.

  • Proficient in navigating modern operating models utilizing digital tools and leveraging data for decision-making.

  • Knowledge of energy management principles would be an advantage.

  • Proven track record in driving transformation programs and effectively managing associated organizational change.

  • Robust project management capabilities with a focus on delivery and execution.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to develop articulate and present a compelling strategic vision based on end-to-end thinking.

  • Strong customer acumen ensuring industrial strategies align with customer needs and market demands.

  • This role will be remunerated based on the domestic package.
