Job Summary

Position Summary: The Physical Therapy Assistant LPTA provides direct therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to support patient mobility strength and functional recovery. This role delivers safe effective treatment programs across outpatient acute inpatient and inpatient rehabilitation settings in alignment with established plans of care. Working closely with the supervising therapist and the broader rehabilitation team the Physical Therapy Assistant reinforces exercise techniques monitors patient responses and maintains clear timely communication to support high-quality patient outcomes. Through dependable teamwork attention to detail and patient-focused care this position also contributes to efficient departmental workflows and a positive therapy experience for patients. Key Responsibilities: Perform delegated physical therapy interventions therapeutic exercises and mobility activities in alignment with the supervising Physical Therapists plan of care. Monitor patient performance and tolerance during treatment sessions and promptly communicate changes concerns or progress to the supervising therapist. Provide instruction and reinforcement to patients and families on safe mobility techniques home exercise programs and use of assistive devices. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments patient responses and relevant clinical information in accordance with Trinity Health standards. Prepare clean and organize therapy equipment and treatment areas to support safety and operational readiness across multiple care settings. Collaborate with therapy staff nursing and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient-centered care delivery.

Licenses and Certifications Required Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of North Dakota. Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 30 days of hire. Educational Requirements Experience Requirements None Special Skills or Training Requirements Able to communicate orally with all customers. Organize time well to meet job expectations. Physical Requirements: The Physical Therapy Assistant is frequently required to stand walk bend and assist patients with therapeutic activities throughout the hospital campus. The role involves supporting patient transfers ambulation training and movement of equipment or supplies which may require moderate lifting and sustained physical effort. Effective communication adequate vision hearing and manual dexterity are essential for demonstrating exercises monitoring patient safety and operating therapy equipment. Environmental Requirements: This position works in outpatient clinics acute inpatient units and inpatient rehabilitation areas with routine exposure to patients with varied medical and mobility needs. The assistant may encounter infectious diseases body fluids cleaning agents and medical equipment typical of hospital environments. Adherence to infection-prevention practices proper PPE use and all Trinity Health safety procedures is required to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
