ABOUT SDSN
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic social and environmental challenges confronting the world.
SCOPE OF WORK
SDSN is seeking a proactive dynamic hands-on and creative Research Assistant to assist the Middle East and Africa Advisor with a broad spectrum of activities focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This position will help to evolve SDSNs research strategies across the region. It will entail assisting with research literature review stakeholder mapping writing and editing among others.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support research and monitor trends across the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) progress across the Middle East and Africa region.
- Map key stakeholders across the sustainable development ecosystem including academia international organizations government bodies private entities and civil society.
- Support current education projects by assessing the feasibility of sustainable projects considering economic environmental and social factors.
- Conduct literature reviews and research on relevant topics to support project development and strategy.
- Assist in preparing marketing material and support with event management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current undergraduate in public policy business or international affairs.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office tools (e.g. Excel Word PowerPoint).
- Manage multiple tasks be well-organized and work well both as part of an international team and independently.
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable development.
- Fluent in English Arabic and French.
