Overview
A luxury island resort in Mozambique is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of maintenance operations. This hands-on role is ideal for a technically proficient professional with experience managing teams projects and the full spectrum of maintenance needs in a high-end hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the General Manager and assist with all lodge maintenance operations including plumbing electrical refrigeration air conditioning carpentry building and general maintenance
Take responsibility for solar systems hot water water treatment and sewerage
Oversee routine and preventative maintenance schedules including generators
Plan and manage maintenance projects ensuring timely completion and effective team coordination
Conduct regular water tests monitor levels and advise on equipment upgrades
Manage lodge water and power budgets including cost control
Maintain all equipment under your responsibility ensuring service schedules are met
Schedule work to minimise disruption to guests
Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers and contractors
Implement preventative maintenance measures to reduce downtime
Perform general office duties including administration invoice allocation and record-keeping
Oversee human resources aspects of the maintenance team including leave registers disciplinary actions and performance monitoring
Control stock and tools order supplies cost-effectively
Participate in budget planning for repairs maintenance and capital expenditure
Attend all relevant meetings (morning meetings finance departmental updates)
Implement and maintain the lodge sustainability program maintaining a 96% sustainability score
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar maintenance management role preferably in hospitality
Valid Drivers Licence and PRDP Licence
Strong technical skills across multiple maintenance disciplines (electrical mechanical plumbing HVAC)
