Head of Environmental Health and Safety Department (EHS) reporting to Country Managing Director Responsible of all business operations related to the EHS Department including its clients and stakeholders relationship management and people leading ensuring the compliance with the Company quality systems procedures and processes. Qualifications :
Education
- Degree in Environmental Management or Chemistry Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years in similar business management position or equivalent.
- Environmental background and exposure in field services.
- Solid experience with ISO 45001.

- Develop and execute plans for the EHS division.
- Analyze market potential and develop competitive positioning and pricing strategies.
- Promote the image capability and integrity of the company to the clients.
- Develop new services and products concepts for the assigned market segment.
- Draft negotiate and secure contracts for local and international clients.
- Translate business strategy into pragmatic action plans and execute.
- Monitor market for the development of new technologies and trends.
- Manage pre and post contract commercial issues.
- Accountable for any claim that may arise from clients.
- Ensure the best quality of execution.
- Manage the relationships with the wider SGS environmental network.
- Responsible for timely delivery and completeness of all field projects.

Technical support
- Support the team technically and train them to be able to deliver secured projects (refer to last version of SGS Mozambique billing estimates sheet).
- Prepare and/or review proposals and reports sent to clients.
- Prepare a minimum set of QC/QA procedures allowing a proper use of the monitoring equipment used in Mozambique and in the view of the ISO requirements ( and 45001).
- Certification: Minivols emissions testing equipment noise meter IH equipment (Gillian pumps dosimeters and lux meter).
- Support field work and reporting: Ambient air monitoring Stack emissions monitoring Water and soil sampling Ambient noise monitoring IH (dust noise and lightning).
Operational Integrity
- Adopt safety and operational integrity behaviors in accordance with related Legislation GS policies and procedures.
- Comply with SGS Code of Integrity.
- Ensuring that team members comply with relevant procedures and work instructions.
- Applies judgment and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
- Ensure that team members use correct templates and comply with ISO requirements ( and 45001).
- Investigate incidents and prepare relevant reports.
- Participate in safety talks and discussions with team members.
- Ensure that all waste produced by SGS is disposed of in an environmentally sustainable manner.
- Optimize resources in order to protect the environment.

- Proficient in English and Portuguese.
- Strong communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.

- Able to coordinate and motivate the team towards a common goal.
