Job Summary


We areseekingan experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to play a key role in our accounting and financial reporting functions. The Staff Accountant will contribute to month-end close complex accounting matters accounts payable oversight and multi-jurisdictional compliance.This role requires strong independent ownership sound professional judgment and the ability to improve processes while collaborating cross-functionally.This role functions as a senior individual contributor within the accounting team with meaningful ownership of core close and compliance processes.


Location:Remote
Preference will be given to those in the Denver CO area / Mountain Time Zone

We areonly able to support remote workers in the following states:WA OR CA NV CO UT AZ OH VA MA MD TX IL GA


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage assigned general ledger accounts and related reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries withappropriate supportingdocumentation
  • Lead portions of the month-end quarter-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and variance analyses
  • Provide oversight and support of accounts payable processesand ensureaccuratetimelyand compliant recording of expenses
  • Assistwith managing the company credit card program and ensureaccuratecoding timeliness and company policy compliance in relation to credit card charges
  • Process and review sales commissionsin accordance withthe compensation plan andmaintainsupporting documentation and reconciliations related to sales commissions
  • Support accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold and partner with operations to resolve cost discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP company policies and internal controls
  • Identify research and resolve accounting discrepancies and complex issues
  • Assistwith audit preparation
  • Support budgeting forecasting and financial analysis activities as needed
  • Assistwith business licensing contractor licensing registrations and renewals at the state and local levels
  • Support filing various state and local tax reporting requirements and other regulatory filings as applicable
  • Track andmaintaincompliance calendars documentation and audit-ready records
  • Identifyand recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales operations technology and leadership teams

Qualifications and Skills

  • Align with our mission and values
  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or related field (required)
  • 47 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proven experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
  • Experience in a growing or scaling company environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High levelof accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Professional judgment and accountability
  • Integrity and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with complex accounting areas (revenue recognition leases fixed assets accruals)
  • Experience in process documentation and internal controls
  • NetSuite ERP experience
  • Experience supporting multi-state or multi-jurisdictional compliance and reporting


Compensation

  • Salary:$80000 $90000 based on qualifications and experience
  • Participation inStonesidesGain Share Program


The Team

  • Reports to Director of Finance & Accounting (Head of Finance)
  • Part of 4-person accounting/finance team supporting a multi-state operation
  • Environment includes inventoryaccounting multi-state operations sales commissions andagrowing operational scale
