Overview
Our client is a leading energy and infrastructure organization seeking an experienced Construction / Commissioning Manager to oversee and coordinate construction and commissioning activities performed by contractors and vendors at project sites. This role is responsible for monitoring productivity ensuring schedule adherence maintaining quality standards and enforcing safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will act as a key liaison between field operations and leadership teams ensuring project alignment resolving field issues and ensuring that construction and commissioning activities meet engineering and design requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and vendors at the project site.
- Monitor contractor productivity schedule compliance work quality and safety performance.
- Conduct walkdowns of planned work and verify completed work meets design specifications and project requirements.
- Review and approve contractor payment requests and ensure alignment with project progress.
- Ensure constructability of project designs and proper resource allocation for field activities.
- Monitor project scope budget schedule and work progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce.
- Communicate departmental station and division goals to field teams and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Serve as the primary bridge between field operations contractors and project leadership.
- Resolve logistical challenges and field conflicts to maintain project momentum.
- Survey and monitor contractor Safety Health and Environment (SHE) practices and provide coaching direction and corrective actions when necessary.
- Lead commissioning activities for large-scale power plant projects including scope management and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with EPC contractors engineering firms and equipment suppliers to ensure successful commissioning.
- Develop and implement commissioning strategies to optimize plant performance and operational readiness.
- Conduct project assessments and implement continuous process improvements.
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering Power Generation or a related field or equivalent experience.
10 years of experience in power plant commissioning and construction oversight.

Experience working with EPC contractors engineering firms and equipment suppliers.

Strong understanding of power plant systems engineering principles and commissioning processes.

Demonstrated experience managing large-scale construction or commissioning projects.
- Must be able to work on-site in Avon NY
