Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager at Miller Electric reports directly to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager. This is a clientfacing role that requires the ability to build strong relationships both in and out of the office. The core responsibility of an Assistant Project Manager is to learn through onthejob experience peertopeer engagement and technical training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assistin estimating project scope and costs.
  • Manage projects with subcontractors.
  • Communicate with clients and subcontractors.
  • Attend and activelyparticipatein project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or.
  • Research and prepare change requests to resolve design issues for approval.
  • Research and recommend solutions to design document problems including conflicts interferences and errors/omissions.
  • Monitor field work and/or contract work to ensure compliance with company standards procedures specifications and codes.
  • Assistwith the submittal process including preparation tracking distribution and followup.
  • Perform document control dutiesincluding:
  • Managing project documentation such as RFIs submittals drawings specifications meeting minutes andchangeorders.
  • Ensuring all documents are current properly filed and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintaining version control of drawings and project files.
  • Updating logs and tracking documentation throughapproval ofworkflows.
  • Supporting project teams by organizing andmaintainingelectronic and physical project files.
  • Assistin the tracking and completion of billing.

Qualifications

  • A college degree journeymans license or master electricians license.
  • A strong understanding of electrical installations.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

PREFERRED

  • Experience in industrial construction/contracting.
  • Electrical contracting assistant project management experience.
  • Familiarity with computerbased estimating.
  • Knowledge of billing and collections.
