Engagement Overview:
This contract Construction Manager will support capital and maintenance projects across utility-owned generation assets. The selected professional will integrate into
established project teams and provide steady field leadership within active regulated generation environments. This role requires direct utility or power generation
construction experience. Commercial construction or non-utility industrial backgrounds will not align with project scope.
Primary Function:
The Construction Manager serves as the on-site construction representative for capital and maintenance projects within its hydroelectric and thermal generation facilities. This role leads day-to-day field execution while ensuring construction activities are safely integrated into operating plants. The Construction Manager coordinates closely with plant managers operations engineering contractors on call inspectors and project managers to deliver work that meets safety reliability regulatory environmental schedule and cost objectives within a regulated utility environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & Safety
Act as the on-site construction authority providing daily leadership across active generation facilities
Lead daily job briefings and enforce contractor safety programs
Identify and mitigate construction risks in live plant environments
Contractor & Scope Coordination
Oversee contractor execution across mechanical electrical civil and structural scopes
Coordinate multiple contractors and specialty trades within confined and operating facilities
Monitor contractor performance productivity and adherence to scope schedule and quality expectations
Operations & Outage Integration
Plan and execute outage-driven construction activities in coordination with plant operations
Integrate construction work with plant operating constraints lockout/tagout and system clearance requirements
Coordinate work within hydro facilities subject to environmental licensing and water management constraints
Project Controls & Compliance
Track field progress milestones and constraints in coordination with project managers
Support cost control change management and issue escalation
Maintain construction documentation consistent with regulated utility and audit requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience serving as a utility or owners construction representative
Hydroelectric powerhouse or turbine-generator project experience
Familiarity with environmental licensing and regulatory requirements applicable to generation facilities
Project Management or Construction Management certification (PMP CCM or equivalent)
Requirements:

Minimum 7 years of construction management experience within regulated electric utility or power generation environments
Direct experience supporting hydroelectric and/or natural gas generation facilities
Demonstrated experience planning coordinating and executing construction work during plant outages
Proven ability to coordinate construction activities within operating generation facilities
Strong safety leadership experience in high-risk industrial or utility environments
Ability to work effectively with plant operations engineering contractors and project management teams
