Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. WeoperateaYouth Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and aTransitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

About the Role

As anOutreachVolunteer you willbe responsible for:

Educating the Public About Friends of Ruby

Tell members of the public about Friends of Ruby including our mission services and programs

Answer questions about Friends of Ruby (to the best of your ability)

Thank anyone who donates or intends to donate to Friends of Ruby

Set Up and Take Down

If you are able help set up the table of outreach materials ensuring all materials are neatly displayed and visible

At the end of the outreach engagement if you are able help take down and pack up all outreach materials

What You Bring

Qualifications:

Comfortable speaking to the public for up to 3 hours.

Able to commute around the GTA.

Commitment to social justice anti-racism anti-oppression housing first approach harm reduction approach and trauma-informed care.

Assets:

Identifies asa member of the2SLGBTQIAcommunity.

Knowledge and experience in the sector.

Ability to support setting up and taking down the outreach table.
