Volunteer Coordinator - Part time 0.6 FTE (3 days per week) - Extendicare Eaux Claires
Candidates are invited to apply for the above position to work at Extendicare Eaux Claires Long Term Care Home a 204-bed long-term care facility located in Edmonton Alberta. The successful applicant will report to the Rehab Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing all administrative and resource aspects of the Volunteer program within Extendicare Eaux Claires.
Key Responsibilities:
To recruit orient develop coach and performance manage Volunteers
To maintain records pertaining to Volunteers
To maintain Volunteer association financial records
To maintain knowledge base
To assist other departments as necessary
To prepare and file reports as required
To develop departmental policies and procedures
To ensure quality assurance program is maintained
To promote and maintain harmonious effective relationships between Volunteers and staff
To ensure resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted
To be knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it
To work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents)
To uphold and promote the organizations values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics morality and integrity as set out in Extendicares Code of Conduct
To complete all other tasks as assigned including meal assistance and resident safety checks
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or diploma in a related field
Minimum of one (1) year experience with seniors in an organized program or with persons in a health care setting
Demonstrated experience or knowledge in recruitment selection orientation placement and supervision of volunteers
Must have strong interpersonal skills
