Senior Human Resources Generalist On-site

We are adding this Sr. HR Generalist position to our Corporate Human Resources team at our corporate headquarters located in Cottage Grove WI.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of professional HR experience from two or more mid-sized employers (300 to 1500 employees) including extensive hands-on involvement with a variety of traditional HR responsibilities and broad working knowledge of all aspects of HR.

Specific responsibilities for this Sr. HR Generalist position will be determined based on how the individuals experience can maximize the strengths knowledge and interests of all members of the HR Team as the company grows.

Experience will be evaluated in each of the following areas:

Employment laws: compliance reporting policies handbooks internal investigations state-specific laws/benefits
HR Information System (HRIS): general use reporting tools new system implementation
Payroll processing review/reconciliation reporting
Recruitment: postings interviews onboarding orientation applicant tracking system (ATS)
Job assessment job descriptions
Benefits: insurance FSA/HSA/HRA retirement plans (401k ESOP) paid time off
Leaves of absence
Employee relations engagement culture exit interviews turnover analysis
Performance management succession planning
Training and development; learning management system (LMS)
Coaching managers

In addition to experience with many of the above we are looking for:

Intermediate level Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid math and analytical skills; detail-oriented
Strong problem-solving skills
Great teamwork attitude with a willingness to get involved with any/all HR areas as needed
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of private and sensitive information
Ability and willingness to travel out of state and overnight a few times per year

Candidates with supervisory experience and/or demonstrated leadership qualities are encouraged to apply. Although SMS is in the healthcare space experience in unrelated industries such as construction or manufacturing especially with a mobile multi-state workforce would also be a good fit.
