In partnership with the Executive Director the Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and transactional support to the Human Resources function by performing routine standardized HR tasks that follow established policies procedures and checklists. This role is primarily responsible for data entry record maintenance coordination of HR transactions and supporting payroll and benefits processing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate and complete employee personnel files in accordance with established recordkeeping requirements.
- Process routine HR transactions including new hires changes and terminations following approved procedures and checklists.
- Coordinate and conduct standardized HR onboarding and orientation sessions.
- Collect review for completeness and submit employee documentation required for payroll and benefits processing.
- Audit timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness and escalate discrepancies as directed.
- Track employees leave balances overtime and attendance data and prepare routine reports for review.
- Process all HR and Payroll transactions timely. During payroll processing work with the payroll team to ensure complete accuracy of paychecks by following the HR/Payroll Checklist.
- Support benefits administration by processing enrollments changes terminations and maintaining eligibility records.
- Track workers compensation claims and maintain required documentation logs and forms under direction.
- Support driver compliance activities by entering tracking and maintaining required driver documentation in JJ Keller and escalating missing or incomplete information.
- Order employee uniforms name badges and business cards in accordance with established procedures.
- Compile data and assist with preparation of routine HR or management reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent required
- Prior administrative or HR support experience preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain consistent and regular attendance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS timekeeping or payroll systems preferred.
