The Barrington School District is seeking a creative student-centered elementarytechnologyteacher for the 2026-27 school year. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator to inspire our youngest learners by fostering curiosity in technology.
The ideal candidate will design hands-on high-quality lessons that build essential digital literacy and problem-solving skills. We value an educator who creates a joyful classroom environment collaborates well with grade-level teams and understands how to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for elementary-aged children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Prepares written lesson plans extending three days in advance of the instructional use date.
- Keeps up-to-date lesson plans and procedural guidelines on hand and available for substitute teachers in cases of teacher absence.
- Sets and maintains standards of classroom behavior for students.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Is proficient in the use of educational software including grading and parent communication software and is trained on other technological hardware as needed.
- Implements by instruction and action the districts philosophy vision and instructional goals and objectives.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Upholds and enforces school rules administrative regulations and School Board policy.
- Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Attends and participates in all faculty meetings.
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals objectives and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books equipment and other instructional materials.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with assigned students and their parents concerning both academic and behavioral progress.
- Provide for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading workshops seminars conferences and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
- Assists principal or designee in formulating the school budget.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
- Meets expectations of supervisory model
- Performs other duties as assigned by principal designee or superintendent.
- Adheres to the implementation of students 504/Special Education plans and appropriately communicates and plans with service providers and paraprofessionals
