Job Summary

The Barrington School District is seeking a creative student-centered elementarytechnologyteacher for the 2026-27 school year. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator to inspire our youngest learners by fostering curiosity in technology.

The ideal candidate will design hands-on high-quality lessons that build essential digital literacy and problem-solving skills. We value an educator who creates a joyful classroom environment collaborates well with grade-level teams and understands how to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for elementary-aged children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
Prepares written lesson plans extending three days in advance of the instructional use date.
Keeps up-to-date lesson plans and procedural guidelines on hand and available for substitute teachers in cases of teacher absence.
Sets and maintains standards of classroom behavior for students.
Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
Is proficient in the use of educational software including grading and parent communication software and is trained on other technological hardware as needed.
Implements by instruction and action the districts philosophy vision and instructional goals and objectives.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
Evaluates student progress on a regular basis in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
Upholds and enforces school rules administrative regulations and School Board policy.
Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
Attends and participates in all faculty meetings.
Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals objectives and methods.
Assists in the selection of books equipment and other instructional materials.
Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with assigned students and their parents concerning both academic and behavioral progress.
Provide for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading workshops seminars conferences and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
Assists principal or designee in formulating the school budget.
Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
Meets expectations of supervisory model
Performs other duties as assigned by principal designee or superintendent.
Adheres to the implementation of students 504/Special Education plans and appropriately communicates and plans with service providers and paraprofessionals
