JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL FOR EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR SUMMER PROGRAM
JOB SUMMARY: The ESY Principal will have full responsibility for Yukon Public Schools Extended School Year Summer Program. This person will report to the Executive Director of Special Services Assistant Director of Special Services and will work with the building site level principal as needed for planning and program specifics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Post and hire all personnel associated with ESY staffing needs. Teachers Paraeducators Related Services Staff Nursing Staff Interpreters etc.
- Work with ESY building site principal and maintenance staff to secure facilities and classrooms
- Ensure all adaptive equipment is delivered to correct classrooms
- Move ESY materials from Special Services Office to ESY site
- Monitor and quality control all ESY IEP paperwork and registration requirements
- Complete staff folders with ESY forms and required paperwork
- Create caseloads/class lists
- Distribute and monitor ESY goal tracking data
- Be on site at ESY daily to monitor instruction troubleshoot logistical issues communicate with parents and other staff
- Work with ESY staff on timesheet completion and submission
- Work with transportation department to ensure all special transportation needs are me
- Collaborate with other summer programs in the building
- Attend planning meetings as required
- Supervision of students
- Parent contact as necessary
- Record keeping
- Collaboration and communication with supervisor parents teachers and students
- Safety requirements
- Data analysis
- Attendance records
- Final report and review of program
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters Degree Required; Oklahoma Principal Certification Preferred (required if Masters Degree is not in Supervision or Administration education related field);
- Demonstrated use of internal and external data to guide define and make informed decisions and evaluate curricula assessment teaching practices and leadership practices.
- Knowledge of local state and federal graduation curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Apply principles of logical critical creative or scientific thinking to define problems collect data establish facts and draw conclusions. Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule; requires summer work and work outside the regular workday during the school year and/or weekends.
- Will be required to regularly stand; walk; and sit for extended periods.
- Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- May experience constant interruptions inflexible deadlines and changes to normal routines.
- The ability to communicate with various groups of people is essential. This may include communication with parents teachers students administrators and outside agencies.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Stipend of $2500
- No expectation of continuous or renewed employment in this position
