About the Role
Elder Needs Law is seeking askilled and experienced Probate & Estate Planning Paralegalto support our attorneys withdocument drafting probate filings and client follow-up. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a drafting-heavy client-facing environment and understands the sensitivity involved in elder law matters.
This position is acritical point of contact with clientsand requires consistent professionalism empathy and white-glove service.
Key Responsibilities
- Draftprobate pleadingsforFormal and Summary Administrations
- Draftestate planning documents including:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Powers of Attorney
- Deeds
- Healthcare Advance Directives
- Draft advanced planning documents such as:
- Qualified Income Trusts (QITs)
- Pooled Special Needs Trusts
- Prepare final documents for execution and track revisions
- E-file pleadings with Florida probate courts and assist with hearing preparation
- Manage attorney calendars and ensure timely client follow-up
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding documents edits and next steps
- Assist with matter management and internal task tracking
- Participate in weekly team meetings via Zoom
- Collaborate with Sales & Intake teams during client triage as needed
- Adhere to firm processes policies and confidentiality requirements
Required Qualifications
- Required:Hands-on experience drafting documents usingWealthCounsel and ElderDocx
- Required:Experience draftingFlorida probate pleadings(Formal & Summary Administrations)
- Required:Experience draftingestate planning documents
- Strong knowledge of theFlorida Probate Circuit Court system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with a legal team
- Empathy and professionalism when working with elderly clients and families
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills
Technology & Work Requirements
- Proficiency with Office 365 WealthCounsel and ElderDocx
- Ability to maintain a fully equipped home office for remote work including:
- Desktop or laptop computer
- Reliable internet connection
- Phone access
- Notary preferred (or willingness to obtain)
