Title: Release Consultant
Location: Salt Lake City UT (Onsite)
Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Agile / Scrum Leadership:
- Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies and ensure alignment with Agile best practices.
- Facilitate sprint planning daily standups sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Remove impediments and enable efficient delivery for developers and QA teams.
- Coach Product Owners on backlog refinement prioritization and user story clarity.
- Track key Agile metrics (velocity burndown capacity etc.) to drive continuous improvement and transparency.
Release Management:
- Plan manage and coordinate release cycles across multiple environments.
- Maintain an integrated release calendar and ensure deployment readiness.
- Collaborate with DevOps QA and engineering teams for smooth predictable releases.
- Identify and manage release risks issues and dependencies.
- Oversee post release validation reporting and retrospective analysis.
- Communicate release timelines status and potential impacts to stakeholders.
Day-to-Day Job Duties:
- Facilitate daily standup meetings and ensure team progress is tracked.
- Monitor sprint execution identify blockers and coordinate their resolution.
- Support the Product Owner in grooming and prioritizing the product backlog.
- Update Agile boards dashboards and sprint documentation in real time.
- Coordinate release activities with DevOps QA and development teams.
- Review release readiness criteria and validate deployment checklists.
- Track and report on sprint velocity release progress and team performance.
- Host release reviews and retrospectives to improve future release cycles.
- Maintain communication with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Ensure adherence to Agile processes release standards and compliance guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years of proven experience as a Scrum Master Release Manager or in a combined Agile delivery role.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum Kanban) and release management practices.
- Experience coordinating deployments in collaboration with DevOps and QA teams.
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira Azure DevOps Rally or equivalents.
- Excellent communication facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem solving abilities and experience resolving delivery or release blockers.
- Ability to manage multiple release cycles in a fast paced environment.
- Must be onsite in Salt Lake City UT
Education Qualification:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Travel Requirement:
- No travel required for this role.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Certification(s) such as CSM PSM I/II SAFe Scrum Master or equivalent.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins GitLab CI Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes or Change Management in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP).
- Experience working in large-scale multi-team Agile environments (SAFe LeSS etc.).
- Experience managing releases in environments with microservices or distributed architectures
