Job Summary

Koniag Professional Services (KPS) a Koniag Government Services company is seeking a Physician Assistant to support KPS and our government customer in support of theAlbany Military Entrance Processing Station. This position is for a future business Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of 06:00 to 17:00 pm (remain flexible) Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise. Primary location of performance is: 11 A Clinton Avenue Albany NY 12207We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health dental and vision insurance 401K with company matching flexible spending accounts paid holidays three weeks paid time off and Physician Assistant is responsible for performing a review of military service applicants medical histories performing medical evaluations and conducting reviews of medical test results and documents with an end goal of determining whether the applicant meets the medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services at one of the USMEPCOM geographically dispersed :Conduct medical histories and physical eligibility of applicants based on Department of Defense (DoD) medical of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical historiesSecure a thorough health history from the applicant and record applicant medical documentation and render their medical opinion on an applicants medical fitness for programs applying forApply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military highest regard to applicant by and follow IAW Privacy Act and HIPPAParticipate in MEPS local medical peer Philosophy Known as Red Carpet TreatmentComply with all installation policies and and update electronic medical documentationAccess and respond to e-mail communications and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical communicate with all parties and other providersOther duties as :US Citizenship is required by the government customerAbility to successfully meet the background investigation requirementsMasters degree from an accredited Physician Assistant have a current active unrestricted license to practice as a PA in the state of certification (NCCPA) requiredStrong clinical skills and knowledge of medical best communication and interpersonal to work both independently and as part of a BLS through the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationPossess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States the District of Columbia The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Guam or the U.S. Virgin IslandsMinimum of one (1) year experience post-graduate trainingPossess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills Skills and Abilities:Possess computer skills necessary to access and update electronic medical documentation access and respond to e-mail communications and use internet sites as required to obtain information on medical issues. This includes keyboard data entry of all medical record entries consults and applicant medical processingAbility to read write and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providersAbility to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgement and demonstrating sound decision-making skillsPossess sufficient initiative interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivityAbility to complete Genesis training requirements for medical documentationExperience in collecting organizing recording and communicating while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnairesKnowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and health care fields to include obstetrics and gynecology otolaryngology pediatric orthopedic internal medicine and mental healthPhysical Demands:(The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
