JOB SUMMARY:
As a Temporary Senior Desktop Support Specialist you will be a cornerstone of Sangamo Therapeutics IT support operations ensuring seamless technology experiences across both office and laboratory environments. This role goes beyond traditional desktop supportit demands a proactive solutionsoriented mindset and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of a biotech setting.
You will act as the primary escalation point for Level 1 technicians tackling complex technical issues that impact critical research and business functions. Your expertise will help maintain uptime for specialized laboratory IT systems which are essential to scientific workflows and regulatory compliance.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with scientists IT peers and crossfunctional teams bridging the gap between cuttingedge research and robust technology infrastructure. Success in this role means delivering exceptional customer service driving operational efficiency embracing a collaborative mindset and upholding security and compliance standards in a fastpaced missiondriven environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide Level 2 desktop and endpoint support for Windows environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and OS-level issues both proactively and reactively
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware software and connectivity issues for office endpoints and specialized laboratory IT systems (e.g. instrument PCs data acquisition and lab automation software)
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 (O365) including user provisioning licensing email troubleshooting Teams OneDrive and SharePoint basics
  • Manage and support MDM solutions (e.g. Intune or equivalent) for laptops mobile devices and security compliance
  • Administer and support Box for file storage permissions access control and user issues
  • Track document and resolve incidents and service requests using an ITSM system (e.g. Jira Service Management ServiceNow Freshservice etc.)
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes including device setup access provisioning and asset tracking
  • Provide onsite support for meetings AV setups and day-to-day office IT needs
  • Act as a trusted IT presence for onsite employees balancing urgency with quality service

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 years of experience in Desktop Support or IT Support with demonstrated experience resolving Level 2 requests
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft O365
  • Demonstrated expertise with MDM platforms (Intune or similar)
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience with Windows 11
  • Experience administering Box (user access permissions troubleshooting)
  • Working knowledge of ITSM systems to track incidents requests and changes
  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in an onsite environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience supporting and administrating video conferencing platform such as Zoom & MS Teams

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience supporting bioscience or laboratory systems (lab instruments research applications or regulated environments)
  • Knowledge of Okta Workflows or similar automation tools (e.g. Power Automate identity lifecycle automation)
  • Experience supporting AV events conference rooms or executive presentations
  • Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and SSO environments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs kneel and walk between suites (may include stairs)
  • This is an onsite role. This role may require regular visits to our Brisbane CA location depending on support needs.

Pay Range
The anticipated salary range is for candidates who will work in our San Francisco Bay Area work locations. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience with the job type and length of experience within the industry education etc. This salary range may not apply to remote positions that work in other states.
