Data Security Presales Engineer

Job Overview

The candidate will be a subject matter expert in data protection technologies with deep hands-on experience across the entire data security lifecycle from Data Classification Data Privacy Data Governance Data Masking and Database Activity Monitoring. This role is critical in helping prospective clients understand and implement solutions that secure their most sensitive data assets while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Sales & Consulting:
   

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the sales team engaging with prospects to understand their business drivers pain points and technical requirements related to data security.
  
• Conduct technical presentations product demonstrations and proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements tailored to the clients specific data environment and security challenges.
  
• Articulate the value proposition of our solutions against competing offerings and clearly demonstrate how they integrate with existing client infrastructure.
  

1. Solution Design & Architecture:
   

• Design and architect comprehensive data security solutions encompassing Data Classification Data Governance Data Privacy and Data Protection technologies.
  
• Develop technical proposals SOWs (Statements of Work) and response documents (RFPs/RFIs) that clearly outline the recommended solution implementation approach and expected outcomes.
  
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of industry trends regulatory mandates (e.g. GDPR CCPA HIPAA) and emerging technologies across the data security landscape.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field.
  
• 5 years of experience in a presales professional services or solution architect role focused on data security.
  

Technical Skills:

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing Data Classification and Data Governance frameworks.
  
• Significant experience with at least one major Data Privacy Management platform (e.g. OneTrust BigID ).
  
• In-depth knowledge of Data Encryption Key Management and HSM technologies with familiarity with vendors such as Thales Fortanix or Key Factor.
  
• Previous experience with PKI and certificate lifecycle management.
  
• Strong understanding of Data Masking and tokenization ( e.g Mage data)
  
• Experience with Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) tools and database security best practices.
