Job Summary | The College of Medicine would like to hire a part-time Research Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry. Under the supervision of full-time staff this position will conduct research related to a large-scale national collaborative research project that follows children aged 9 and 10 at the outset into young adulthood. The activities will include assisting in participant scheduling consenting/assenting parents and youth corresponding with participants via phone email/regular mail and administering the study protocol. |
Job Description: | Administering Study Protocol - This position will include administering study protocol which includes using iPad applications REDCap data entry administering the tasks during imaging and assisting with the collection of biological samples. Participant Contact/Scheduling - Assists with participant outreach and scheduling including coordinating with laboratory and MRI facility scheduling. This position is also responsible for answering emails phone calls and mail regarding study participation. Administrative Duties - Will be responsible for monitoring study supplies and ensuring supplies are restocked in a timely manner. This position will also monitor the shipping of biological samples to the appropriate laboratories and confirm that samples have arrived satisfactorily. Human Subject Payments - Works closely with the Universitys Human Subjects Payment (HSP) department to prepare human subject payments for youth participants and parents/guardians. Assists youth participants and parents/guardians with receiving/activating funds. |
Advertised Salary: | $17.00/hr |
Minimum Requirements: | - Has completed or currently enrolled in a bachelors program or allied health professional degree in psychology neuroscience or a related field with at least one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with adolescent and adult populations.
- Ability to work independently and interact professionally with strong written communication time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications: | - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the Google Workspace environment.
- Experience interviewing youth and adults prior experience with computer-based testing and REDCap.
- Completion of CITI Human Research Group 1 (IRB-01) Mandatory Training Certification.
- Previous experience working on a research project or in clinical trials including paid or volunteer roles involving participant interaction and/or recruitment.
