The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. Additionally the department manages many of the states advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the states population that have been traditionally underserved.
Description of Work
To provide a suitable environment for the state government complex in Raleigh by means of steam necessary to meet demand and maintenance and repair of steam plant boilers and equipment. The North Carolina Department of Administration is seeking applicants for a Boiler Operator for our Facility Management division. The primary mission of Facility Management is to provide a Safe and healthful work environment for employees and the public in a cost effective and energy efficient manner. This mission is accomplished by performing routine preventative and emergency maintenance to state facilities owned by and allocated to the Department of Administration.
This position is responsible for manning an 8-hour rotational shift. The applicant will maintain a continues vigil and take all steps necessary to maintain a steam output that will meet total demand. This position requires a thorough working knowledge of fuel oil and gas boilers.

The department also provides assistance and services to several advocacy programs that serve diverse segments of the states population that have traditionally been underserved. The agencys mission directs departmental efforts to: acquire develop and maintain properties and facilities; create and operate an efficient system to purchase and dispose of goods and services to meet the needs of government agencies; provide excellent operational services to state employees; achieve fair and equitable opportunities and representation for various segments of the population that have special needs; and to provide administrative support to independent state government agencies.
