The coach fosters athletic excellence academic success and character development among student-athletes while maintaining compliance with all school WCAC and governing athletic association Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlan organize and supervise the baseball program including tryouts practices and games develop a competitive and educational program that emphasizes sportsmanship teamwork and discipline coordinate with assistant coaches athletic trainers and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants teach fundamental baseball skills strategies and conditioning appropriate to all levels of player ability promote academic accountability personal growth and positive behavior among student-athletes encourage participation and skill development through offseason workouts training and summer team equipment uniforms and inventory in coordination with the athletic department manage team budgets and fundraising efforts responsibly and transparently Coordinate team travel game schedules and transportation needs in collaboration with the Athletic Director ensure compliance with WCAC school and athletic association rules and regular communication with the Athletic Director parents and student-athletes helps with scheduling of non-conference matches with the Athletic Director; engages necessary officials and requests necessary fees for scheduled coaching high school-level student-athletes; prior coaching experience usually 25 years at the high school travel or collegiate knowledge of baseball rules techniques and player to build positive relationships with students parents and organizational communication and leadership be able to pass the background check and fingerprinting requirements CPR and Virtus Online training. complete all WCAC and Archdiocesan coaching certifications and background EnvironmentPractices and games held after school evenings and weekends as travel to WCAC and non-conference position with possible year-round planning and training responsibilities.
