Nurse Supervisor Juvenile Health Clinic

• Provide direct supervision of registered nurses and medical assistants.
• Maintain familiarity with all work processes to effectively lead and manage continuous process improvement efforts for nursing services.
• Support efforts to proactively build and maintain critical reporting and process improvement and implementation
• Provide input for the preparation and revision of the annual budget.
• Participate in after hours on-call duties.
• Provide clinical consultation to staff regarding specific patients and provide guidance on challenging cases; assess and evaluate legal implications and risk factors.
• Provide youth education and facilitate referrals to pregnancy options including carrying and parenting adoption and termination in collaboration with and under the direction of a medical provider.
• Responsible for hiring completing performance appraisals mentoring training counseling team building and discipline of staff.
• Facilitate and participate in committees and projects including but not limited to: Multi-disciplinary Team scheduling and staffing emergency response pharmacy and therapeutics and Quality Improvement committees.
• Work with outside health providers to assure the provision of appropriate patient care; work with Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention management and staff (including the Juvenile Nurse Manager) to ensure that the CCFJC Health Clinic meet National Commission on Correctional Health Care accreditation standards as well as medical federal state and other standards and requirements.
• Develop implement and monitor new policies procedures and nursing guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN DNP or PhD from an accredited school of nursing.

• Current Washington State license as a Registered Nurse or Multi-State Licensure.

• Documentation of current BLS-CPR for Health Care Providers. CPR/AED HeartSaver courses do not meet this requirement.

• Washington state drivers license or ability to travel to sites within the county.

• Pass background and credentialing; including complete King County personnel file & disciplinary file review.

• Current career service qualified registered nurse employed within the Dept. of Adult & Juvenile Detention - Juvenile Division only.

Work Schedule:This 1.0 FTE fully benefitted career service position and has a typical work schedule of 1100 -1900 Monday through Friday. This position is overtime eligible and may work outside of the typical schedule to meet operational needs.

Work Location:King County Juvenile Detention Center 1211 E. Alder Seattle WA 98122. The individual selected for this position will work within the secure perimeter of the juvenile detention facility.
