Qualifications: Education: - High School Diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant Certification
- OSHA for healthcare professionals HIPPA CPR training required
Experience: - Minimum 1 year working as a Medical Assistant in a medical practice
- Experience using EMR system for medical documentation required
- Experience using Microsoft Office products required
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Specific: - Welcomes patients by greeting them and confirming the purpose of their visit.
- Escort patients to exam rooms interviews patients measure vital signs includingweight blood pressure pulse temperature and document all information in patientschart.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by medical provider
- Ensure all related reports labs and information is filed is available in patientsmedical records prior to their appointment.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies maintain instruments and prepare sterilization as required.
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/Advanced Practitioner/pharmacy calls.
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to advanced practitioner.
- Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures emergencymedications expired medications oxygen cold sterilization fluid change etc.)
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including composure diplomacy and theability to act with a diverse patient population.
- Manage confidential employee information in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effectively time-manage job responsibilities; Organize workflow anddocumentation.
- Responds to medical emergencies and solicits immediately.
- Other duties assigned by Practice and Clinical area.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment and exam rooms as indicated by practice protocol.
- Collaborates with members of the provider group to ensure a high quality service experience and that health care delivery standards are met
