Prime Air is seeking an experienced engineering leader who combines superb technical research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.
Experience in Navigation Guidance and Flight Controls Software is highly desired. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our systems test safety and security teams. Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazons ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities
Lead multiple teams (manager of managers) of talented research and applied scientists flight controls and embedded software engineers.
Manage and develop employees including hiring retention performance management mentoring and capability/skill development
Lead architecture design implementation and operational support of key components on the Prime Air delivery drone
Act as point of contact for communications dealing with project deliverables setting the expectation managing priorities technologies and management issues
Establish high bar for processes and standards in the execution of all projects

The base pay for this position ranges from $165500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $286000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. - 10 years of engineering experience
- 5 years of engineering team management experience
- 10 years of planning designing developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs projects and development teams in an Agile environment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
