The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient-centered care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This role involves assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures patient preparation and recovery and close monitoring of patients hemodynamic status. The Cath Lab RN works collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe effective and compassionate cardiovascular care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care during cardiac catheterizations percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and permanent pacemaker implants.
Assist with additional procedures including cardiac stress testing loop recorder implants and venous ablation.
Prepare patients for procedures including assessment education and pre-procedure care.
Monitor patients during procedures assessing hemodynamic status and responding promptly to changes or emergencies.
Deliver post-procedure recovery care including monitoring patient education and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate timely and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with standards and guidelines established by CVMC AACN CCI and SICP.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives patient safety programs and continuing education activities.
Adhere to all safety infection control and regulatory protocols.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Education
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
Active Arizona RN License or Compact State RN License required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not current)
Experience
1 2 years of Cath Lab or critical care experience preferred
Candidates with strong ICU CCU or ER experience will be considered; training available
