Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) 13-Week Contract
Location: Hyannis MA 02601
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Shift: Rotating days Rotating start times (3:00 PM 11:00 PM)
Weekends/Holidays: Rotating
Travel Criteria: Must reside 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a travel candidate
Compensation
Weekly Pay Range: $1280 $1480
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support a busy surgical services department at a well-established healthcare facility in Hyannis Massachusetts. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety by maintaining the highest standards of instrument decontamination sterilization and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Decontamination
Identify and apply appropriate methods and solutions for decontaminating instruments and clinical equipment
Sort disassemble decontaminate rinse and disinfect instruments
Follow proper PPE guidelines at all times
Instrument Preparation
Assemble instrument sets accurately using count sheets
Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality
Properly wrap containerize peel-pack and label instrumentation
Storage & Distribution
Store and handle sterile supplies and equipment correctly
Access and follow physician preference cards
Retrieve distribute and track surgical supplies in a timely manner
Sterilization Process
Select appropriate sterilization methods
Adhere to correct sterilization practices
Document and verify sterilization loads and biological testing results
Equipment Operation
Inventory Control
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of recent Sterile Processing experience
CRCST Certified Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA)
BLS (AHA) certification
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
