About the Role

As the Film and TV (FTV) Facilities Supervisor your focus will be on managing the day-to-day technical operations of the FTV department coordinating the FTV facilities team and equipment while supporting students and the Head of Department in delivering key programs of work and meeting target goals.

Whats involved

  • Manage the technical operation and upkeep of the FTV department its equipment facilitates and staff.
  • Training mentoring and supporting students in the proper use of FTV facilities production and post-production workflows.
  • Oversee equipment booking and maintain equipment safety and security ensuring availability for both student projects and in-class workshops.
  • Manage the maintenance repairs and replacement of equipment process ensuring availability for classes and peak times.
  • Oversee and maintain studio bookings schedule ensuring equitable distribution of studio time for students.
  • Production manage & help lecturers schedule student productions (short films documentaries music videos social media etc) while keeping the FTV team aware of all booking commitments.
  • Engagement or supervision of JMC-related film productions event and editing work.
  • Potential opportunity to lecture for the right candidate

Are you who we are looking for

You will know this role is for you if you:

  • Have a bachelor degree of higher in film and/or television or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the film and television industry
  • High level knowledge or experience in a specific field related to film and television production.
  • Previous experience in developing industry partnerships and opportunities for student to gain industry skills and networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication organisation and time management skills
  • Previous exposure to work as an academic/teacher or in a tertiary environment (desirable but not necessary).
  • Have a Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
