Job Summary

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • Mother Baby experience preferred

What You Will Do

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventional
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift inter-hospital and while expediting out of hospital transfers

Our four-story specialty center for women and infants features 12 labor and delivery beds 2 C-section suites along with 6 antepartum and 24 postpartum beds. Texas Health Denton is the citys only provider of obstetrical and neonatal intensive care services and is the largest provider of obstetrical services in Denton County. The ground floor houses a breast imaging center outpatient physical therapy cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.

Work hours:PRN Level III/per diem Mid Shift; 11a-11p as needed; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule 1 major/2 minor holiday requirements

  • The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10-step facility with the Best Place to Have a Baby Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • The unit has 23 beds Postpartum/Newborn Couplet Care 12 LDR beds 2 OR suites 3 private recovery rooms 6 Antepartum rooms and 4 private OB/ED beds
  • Level III NICU with 16 beds with private rooms
  • The unit delivers an average 200 a month.
  • OB Hospitalist 24/7
  • Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7
  • Brand new Womens Tower that opened July 2022
