Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nocturnist Hospitalist to join a well-established hospital medicine team in beautiful Shelton CT. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment at a highly regarded facility with a focus on providing quality inpatient care during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient care during night shifts managing admissions from the emergency department and direct admissions from outpatient providers.
- Perform nightly rounds on inpatients and respond to codes and rapid response calls.
- Collaborate with nurses specialists and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient care using electronic medical records (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees as needed.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Active CT medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Previous hospitalist or nocturnist experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Schedule:
- No outpatient responsibilities.
- Average patient load: manageable to support quality care.
