Job Title: Training & Development Business Partner Ghana
Location: Ghana (Site-Based)
Experience Required: 10 Years in Drilling / Exploration / Mining Operations 5 Years in Training Leadership

About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly capable Training & Development Business Partner to oversee all training and competency activities across Ghana operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing training programs and asset-specific training packages conducting TNAs developing competency frameworks and ensuring that training aligns with OEM operational manuals and safety standards. This position requires someone confident in delivering training in both the field and the classroom while partnering closely with operations and HSE teams to drive workforce capability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all operational training programs and competency development initiatives
  • Design develop and implement technical training packages
  • Conduct training needs assessments (TNAs) and build competency frameworks
  • Develop asset-specific training SOPs / SWPs
  • Deliver field-based and classroom training sessions
  • Coach supervisors and HSE personnel to ensure consistent training delivery
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements
  • Maintain accurate training records assessments and compliance documentation
  • Collaborate with Operations HR and HSE teams to align training with business goals
  • Ensure all training aligns with operational and safety standards
  • Utilise LMS platforms and digital training tools for training management
  • Support continuous improvement across the training function

Core Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of drilling/exploration or mining operations
  • Ability to design and deliver structured training programs for Surface and Underground Operations
  • Skilled in competency mapping assessment and TNA processes
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities especially for field supervisors
  • Excellent understanding of safety and operational training requirements
  • Proficient with LMS systems and digital training tools
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Adaptability to fast-paced operational environments

Qualifications & Certifications
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Drilling Operations (Preferred)
  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Engineering Training & Education or related field
  • Workplace Assessor Accreditation (highly regarded)
  • Proven experience designing and delivering technical and safety training
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience with LMS platforms e-learning tools or digital training systems

Preferred Experience
  • Minimum 10 years in drilling exploration or mining operations
  • At least 5 years in a training leadership or L&D role
  • Field-based training experience in operational or safety-critical environments
  • Experience working in Ghana or West Africa (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of remote site operations and HSE requirements
