WEEKDAY EVENING WORK & WEEKEND WORK: Most Sundays
POSITIONSUMMARY: This position will require aperson who has extensive training in forming other people for ministry andmission. They will oversee multiple programs and form all the adults and youngadults for each ministry. They must have a sufficient knowledge of the Churchsteachings and must have ample experience in leading bible studies for highschool and young adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Develop and lead a parish OCIA program that meets weekly (every Sunday)
Develop an engaged couples program including a retreat
Form adult and young adult leaders for our high school ministry program
Develop a two week intensive summer program for our 1st-6th grade and train adult and young adult leaders program
Coordinate high school retreats and events
Develops and oversees our Confirmation program and train adult and young adult leaders
Develop and coordinate small group Bible studies for young adults 21-30 years of age
Coordinate program for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion and train adult and young adult leaders
Be present at Diocesan Young Adult events
Assist in training all altar servers

QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORMTHE JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Education and/orExperience:
College degree preferred
3-5 years experience in ministry for the CatholicChurch in a church parish diocesan office Catholic school high school orcollege campus ministry Catholic non-profit or the like.
Skills in formation of teenagers young adults adultsand small group leaders
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate clearly to all by phoneverbally and in written form
Computer Skills:
Extensive computer skills including but not limitedto MS Office web-based applications
Certificates LicensesRegistrations:
All employees of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux arerequired to hold Safe Environment Training and update every 3 years. Thistraining includes a criminal background check.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive hand motions
Ability to lift up 40 pounds
Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time
Working Conditions:
Working in an office environment with or withoutinterruptions.

Must have knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church andits teachings.
Must be able to collaborate with a team
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
A heart for ministry and specifically for forming theleaders of ministry
Must be willing to drive personal vehicle to schoolschurches and other diocesan locations often.
