Medical Officer

Tasks

Care and Coordination:

1. When deployed for a patient consultation you shall be responsible for:

• Taking history performing a thorough clinical examination providing a diagnosis and ordering laboratory and imaging investigations.
• Carrying out phlebotomy and other sample collection and rapid diagnostic testing as clinically indicated.
• Correctly interpreting laboratory and imaging results formulating a care plan with the patient and providing treatment as necessary.
• Ensuring a patient is followed up at the scheduled date and time as per clinical guidelines.

2. Ensure that excellent customer service is delivered to patients through clear communication timely treatment plans and patient referral and professional care and through multidisciplinary management where applicable.

3. Vetting referrals and coordinating with the logistics team to ensure a proper patient referral process is implemented within the TIBU Healthcare system and with external providers.

4. Work closely with the Medical Service Manager for Wellness and Chronic disease management to execute on-site clinical services with corporate partners and subsequent follow-up with patients.

5. Develop schedules that ensure all patients are followed up at the scheduled date and time as per clinical guidelines.

6. Conduct virtual consultations through provided digital platform ensuring timely prescriptions and duly filled claim forms for telehealth services

Quality:

1. Work with Medical Service Manager in developing and implementing relevant healthcare guidelines standard operational procedures and policies in primary healthcare and recommend improvements and adjustments where necessary.

2. Work with Medical Service Manager to develop and maintain telemedicine key product indicators with the aim of ensuring quality standards are achieved in triage calls patient satisfaction etc.

3. Work closely with the service delivery team wellness nursing and lab departments to implement shared protocols.

4. Conduct quality patient triaging and documentation of client information.

5. Participate in developing CMEs and grand rounds for continuous medical education.

Capacity Building:

1. Identify technology gaps propose software solutions and identify novel and innovative ways to sophisticate our virtual care platform and the patient journey and experience across platforms.

2. Recommend new service lines services and innovative approaches to Telehealth.

3. Identify and propose tools and materials needed for the service delivery team.

Requirements

• Degree in Medicine & Surgery
• At least 3 years experience working in a clinical setting.
• Basic experience working as a telehealth service provider will be an added advantage.
• ACLS/BLS certification (desirable).
• Must have working computer skills including Word and Sheet.
• Certificate of Registration from the respective professional regulatory body.
• Valid Professional Practice License.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
