The Lead Barista is responsible for overseeing the coffee and bar programs ensuring exceptional beverage quality and delivering an outstanding guest experience. This role combines expertise in coffee craftsmanship and mixology requiring creativity leadership and a passion for hospitality. The Lead Barista will train staff develop seasonal menus and maintain high standards in beverage preparation while supporting the Restaurant Manager in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coffee & Mixology Program Leadership
Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks specialty coffees and handcrafted cocktails.
Develop and update seasonal coffee and cocktail menus incorporating innovative techniques and premium ingredients.
Ensure consistency in beverage recipes presentation and service standards.
Manage inventory of coffee syrup spirits and bar supplies placing orders as needed.
Team Training & Supervision
Train and mentor baristas and bartenders on coffee preparation mixology techniques and customer service.
Train baristas and bartenders on stock taking procedures and ensure the bar is adequately stocked
Lead by example in maintaining a positive efficient and professional work environment.
Assist in scheduling and delegating tasks to ensure smooth operations.
Customer Experience & Service
Engage with guests providing recommendations and personalized beverage experiences.
Handle customer inquiries feedback and complaints with professionalism.
Maintain a clean organized and inviting coffee bar and cocktail station.
Operational Support
Take inventories of all beverage stocks ensure all stocks are accurate and report any variances or discrepancies to the restaurant manager.
Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager on beverage cost control pricing and profitability.
Ensure compliance with health safety and alcohol service regulations.
Assist in organizing promotional events tastings or specialty beverage features.
Requirements
3 years of experience as a barista and mixologist in a high-volume café restaurant or bar.
Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing methods espresso extraction and cocktail crafting.
Strong leadership communication and training abilities.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in barista training (e.g. SCA) and/or mixology/bar tending is a plus.
Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management.
Working Conditions
