Job Summary

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with strong experience across ECC and S/4HANA environments. The consultant will act as an SAP SME primarily responsible for validating technical specifications related to extracting SAP data into a data lake. This role requires strong ABAP expertise deep understanding of custom Z-tables and the ability to analyze validate and interpret detailed technical documentation. Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Review and validate technical specifications written by ABAP developers in both ECC and S/4HANA.
Analyze custom developments and reverse-engineer Z-tables across FI MM SD HR and other modules.
Collaborate with functional teams to understand end-to-end business logic and data dependencies.
Prepare and validate comprehensive technical documentation including:
- Data extraction logic
- Field-level mapping
- Business rule interpretation
- Source-to-target data lineage
Ensure technical specifications are clear complete and actionable for data engineering teams responsible for developing ETL pipelines to the data lake.
Ask the right technical and functional clarifications to ensure accuracy of extraction logic and mappings.

Advanced ABAP (S/4HANA)

CDS Views (Basic & Composite)
AMDP
OData Services & Fiori Integration
RAP (ABAP RESTful Programming Model)

Data Handling & Extraction

Z-table extraction with joins filters and delta logic
SQL performance tuning
Open SQL & Native SQL
Data Dictionary objects: Z tables views domains data elements
Experience with clustered & pooled tables (ECC legacy)

Documentation & Technical Design

Technical Specification Document (TSD) preparation and validation
Field-level mapping & source-to-target lineage documentation
Business logic traceability
Ability to translate functional requirements into technical rules and mapping logic

Preferred Qualifications

8 10 years of SAP ABAP experience with 3 years in S/4HANA
Experience in ECC-to-S/4HANA development and migration
Strong functional understanding of FI CO SD MM PP SRM
Exposure to BI/BW is an added advantage
