Workday Consultant
Position Title: Workday Consultant
Location: Remote
Job type: Freelance
Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for configuring implementing maintaining and supporting the Workday system for HR (and possibly Finance) modules. This includes managing business processes security & access control integrations reporting data integrity and collaboration with HR Payroll IT teams to ensure seamless HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Configure and administer Workday modules: Core HCM Payroll Security Compensation/Benefits Absence/Time-Tracking etc.
Design build test and deploy integrations between Workday and external systems/interfaces using tools such as Workday Studio / Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) / Core Connectors / Web-services (SOAP/REST) / XSLT / XML as needed.
Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure reliable data flow across HR Payroll Finance or other relevant systems.
Develop custom reports dashboards or analytics in Workday (custom reports report-writer trending calculated fields) to support HR & business reporting needs.
Collaborate closely with HR IT and business teams to gather requirements translate them into technical specifications/configurations and implement solutions that support organizational goals.
Maintain security roles user permissions and data access controls within Workday to ensure compliance and data protection.
Support system upgrades release management and continuous improvements to Workday configuration and integrations
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree (or relevant) in Computer Science Information Systems HRIS or related field. (Alternatively HR/Business technical aptitude)
25 years hands-on experience working with Workday (configuration integrations modules) or similar HRIS/ERP systems.
Strong expertise in Workday integration tools: Studio EIB Core Connectors Web-services (SOAP/REST) and data transformation (XML/XSLT).
Proficiency in building Workday custom reports dashboards using report-writer calculated fields and analytics tools (e.g. report writing/reporting modules).
Solid understanding of HR processes: HCM Payroll Compensation & Benefits Time & Attendance Security/Access Management.
Strong analytical thinking ability to gather business requirements translate into technical/functional specifications problem-solve and deliver robust solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across HR IT business units and possibly third-party vendors.
Attention to detail data accuracy and ability to maintain data integrity and compliance (especially if handling payroll/compensation/benefits data).
