Position Duties/Responsibilities
The Recruiter & Coordinator of Recruiting Operations is responsible for assisting the director with the development implementation and management of comprehensive recruitment and outreach strategies for a diverse population of prospective students. Collaborates with units within Enrollment Management including Admissions Financial Aid Freshman Advising International Programs Registrars Office Scholarships and Testing and other key areas across campus to effectively attract students and enhance enrollment.
Additionally:
- Assists and counsels prospective and current students and their families in person over the phone and via email with regard to admissions academic bankruptcy transfer credit residency and other University policies
- Travel during and after normal business hours to represent the university at recruitment events and activities year round
- Assist university departments and/or colleges with recruiting events that occur on and off campus; act as the admissions liaison by providing print materials giveaways information or representation at a table set up
- Responsible for planning and coordinating recruiting events manages logistics such as scheduling venue setup invitations travel and materials ensures events run smoothly by handling behind-the-scenes organization tracks attendance follow-up tasks and documentation
- Assists the Director of Recruiting in the planning and implementation of high school literary play and speech rally
- Manage a recruitment territory by managing the number of inquiries applicants and enrolled students
- Enter prospective student data into the Student Information System and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system as well as maintain and run reports for the assigned territories
- Plans recruiting travel according to state travel guidelines
- Assist in supervision of student workers & Graduate Assistants
- Helps to coordinate communication to prospective students with regards to direct mail emails text messages social media and other communications channels
- Assists in scheduling and conducting group and individual campus tours
- Serve as a backup for the director in the CRM. Assist with attendee files reports and other daily tasks associated with the CRM
- Provides input for recruiting activities and the creation of recruiting materials
- Builds and maintains mutually beneficial working relationships with high school counselors counterparts at other universities and University faculty and staff
- Represents McNeese at recruiting events and maintains recruiting reports for all recruiting events attended
- Serves on campus and community committees as assigned
- Conducts all duties in a manner which reflects positively on the University and office
- Completes all other duties as assigned by the director and vice president for enrollment management
Required/Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Experience in event planning
- Results-driven strong customer focus and commitment to collaborative teamwork
- High level of energy enthusiasm and motivation
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills
- Effective written and oral communication interpersonal organizational and computer skills
- Ability to produce positive results from internal and external constituents
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under time constraints and prioritize competing tasks
- Ability to interpret and analyze data
- Ability to lift 30 lbs on a regular basis
- Willingness to travel frequently during the fall recruiting season (September-December) including evenings overnight and weekends
- Valid drivers license excellent driving record and access to reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Business Administration or Instructional Technology from a regionally accredited institution or completion within less than two years
- Experience in admissions recruiting marketing or enrollment management at an institution of higher education
- Experience with Ellucian Banner BDM CRM and Social Media
