We engage faith relationship-building and volunteers wherever we go to lift up and support Colorados most vulnerable citizens.


** Oversees the development implementation and daily operations of the group and individual volunteer team. Responsible for program development resource growth personnel supervision budget oversight and strategic relationship-building with internal departments and community partners.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit train supervise and evaluate Volunteer Services staff interns and volunteers in line with VOA Colorados personnel policies.
  • Oversee daily volunteer operations; assign tasks monitor performance and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Resolve conflicts maintain open communication and foster a supportive environment for volunteers.
  • Develop and lead continuing education and training opportunities for staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date volunteer data and hours in Salesforce.
  • Ensure compliance with AmeriCorps Seniors program grant requirements and reporting.
  • Provide regular performance and impact reports to agency leadership.
  • Lead community outreach efforts to promote volunteerism; represent VOA at events and meetings.
  • Drive recruitment of individual volunteers and proactively cultivate corporate volunteer partnerships to expand group engagement.
  • Assess program needs and community trends; implement improvements and growth strategies.
  • Support program budget creation and monitor expenses in coordination with the Division Director and Accounting.
  • Design and execute formal and informal volunteer recognition initiatives to boost retention and morale.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises Volunteer Specialists on the individual and group volunteer team.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.

Event and project days may require standing/walking for extended periods (up to 10 hours).

Frequent travel within Denver Metro and Larimer County for events and outreach.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Full-time typically MondayFriday 8:00 AM4:30 PM.

Occasional evenings and weekends (approx. 1/month).

Hybrid schedule based on business needs.

SALARY: $60000-$65000 annual exempt

Requirements

Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills across diverse audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational follow-through.
  • Demonstrated compassion and a deep understanding of issues related to poverty aging housing insecurity and support for veterans youth and vulnerable populations.
  • Embodies VOA Colorados AIRS culture (Accountability Integrity Respect Service) and HHS values (Hungry Humble People Smart).
  • Demonstrated supervisory qualities including team building conflict resolution critical thinking and results-oriented leadership.


Minimum Qualifications of Position

Bachelors Degree in related service field or equivalent professional experience.

At least two years in program administration including design implementation and evaluation.

At least two years of supervisory experience.

Valid Colorado drivers license with proof of insurance; reliable transportation required.

Must pass background checks per the Corporation for National and Community Service due to recurring contact with vulnerable populations.


Preferred Qualifications of Position

Experience with volunteer management and engagement responsibility.


Knowledge and Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms; Salesforce experience preferred.

Strong communication and public speaking skills for community and corporate engagement
