Position Overview
This is the Team Lead Security Specialistposition in the Ft. Belvoir 300 compound Visitor Center (VC). In this position you will train lead and track the performance of all current and incoming Customer Service/Security Specialists. You will be responsible for management of the VC this role you will issue maintain distribute and track all visitor badges as well as ensure that you and your team greet and process all daily visitors; ensuring to issue the appropriate level of temporary visitor identification badges to authorized visitors.
Responsibilities
- Track all tasks assigned by the Lead Operations Officer
- Develop a battle rhythm for the Visitor Control Center
- Maintain a superior knowledge on all security protocols related to the Visitor Center.
- Train lead and track the performance of all current and incoming Customer Service/Security Specialists.
- Review/update SOPs as required/directed in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Manage attendance and absences (PTO sick etc)
- Conduct annual performance reviews (intermediate reviewer) on personnel with oversight from Program Manager
- Consolidate review and edit weekly and monthly reports from the VC team
- Assign tasks to the team
- Compile/review paperwork for submission to APB Branch Chief/Team Lead
- Conduct daily inventories prior to the start of and at the conclusion of operating hours each day
- Process all incoming and outgoing visitor requests daily
- Issue maintain distribute and track all visitor badges. Log authorized visitors into the visitor control systems
- Process classified visit requests via the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) for personnel attending classified meetings
- Answer the Visitor Center telephones and provide general visit and security information
- Process all Carpool passes as directed by the government customer
- Provide general security support for classified meetings as needed may involve CONUS travel
- Greet and process all daily visitors ensuring to issue the appropriate level of temporary visitor identification badges to authorized visitors
- Pre-register future visitors via e-mail phone or unclassified fax
- Periodically throughout the day check the locked badge repository box located in the guard force area for badges that must be destroyed and for those that must be returned to the badge custodian. Maintain the plastic sleeves for reuse
- Oversee stock level of all materials/equipment for the Visitor Center
- Assist team in supply stock level
- Process orders through appropriate channels for procurement
- Ensure that routine maintenance is performed on all government Information Processing Systems
- Conduct end of day security checks for the visitor center
- Verify all visitor badges are returned daily
- Recover missing badges and report lost badges
- Assist security personnel as needed during quarterly classified destruction operations
- Track all RTI/ESI events that require mass group submissions
- Ensure processed prior to event schedule
- Ensure personnel coverage to support event (on/off site Area 300 compound)
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/government customer
- Review track and ensure the positive workflow for Security Classification Guides
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- You are required to be onsite 5 days a week. Your core duty hours are as follows:
- On-site days 0545 - 1430 this includes 45 mins for lunch
- Active Secret Clearance (Interim can be accepted)
- Customer Service focused/ experience
- Reliable
- Able to work with a team
- Experience working in a ARMY Base Visitor Center
