We are currently looking for aPolicy Coordinator to join our Policy Function within the Partnerships Group.
This is a full-timeopportunity on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf London E14 4PU. Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible hybrid way of working with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role this can flex up to 12 days a month with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Partnerships Group is responsible for shaping policy to guide the MHRAs operations for developing the national and international partnerships that the MHRA needs to be successful; and for transforming and modernising the legal regime for medicines and medical devices which underpins the MHRAs work.
The Partnerships Group is working on issues that are at the heart of public health fast safe access to medicines and medical devices working with industry and other health Arms Length Bodies (ALBs); tackling public health regulatory issues as they arise; and supporting the future of the life sciences industry in the UK. The Group does all this while ensuring that patient safety and public health impact is at the heart of its work.
The Policy Team drives MHRA policy development on cross-cutting areas and ensures consistency and high quality of the Agencys core policy activities. The team has a strong reactive cross-Agency role and is responsive to emerging policy issues problem solving and leading high profile regulatory policy development. The Policy Team works collaboratively with the MHRAs technical subject matter experts and other Government departments to respond to complex policy questions focusing on patient safety and public health. This enables team members to develop expertise across a range of regulatory areas giving significant personal development opportunity.
Whats the role
We are recruiting an Executive Officer role in the Policy Team within the Partnerships group to take responsibility for core policy work and related responsibilities such as triaging and coordinating the Agencys response to commissions.
This includes leading the Agencys responses to cross-government commissions including briefings for ministers and senior leaders.
It also includes providing support to projects across the range of thePartnerships Groups responsibilities and reach across the whole of the Agencys work for example through researching subjects and analysing information.
Key responsibilities:
Taking forward policy and briefing requests from DHSC and wider government working closely with the rest of Policy team and other Agency colleagues. You will need to have strong communication skills to be confident providing clear and accurate advice preparing briefings analysing information quality checking identifying key issues and recommending next steps.
Building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with colleagues across the MHRA relevant DHSC teams and ministerial private offices and other health ALBs to ensure quality and timely responses to commissions.
Cascading any relevant information from DHSC (e.g. changes to procedures or contacts at DHSC) to the Policy team and wider organisation in a timely manner updating colleagues on themes from commissions received and actioned and supporting the delivery of the Partnerships Groups ministerial submissions offer ensuring that submissions are high quality and have been through appropriate sign-off.
Managing information on SharePoint and the Policy Teams intranet presence and supporting colleagues across the Partnerships Group to ensure joined up and collaborative working and helping to build an inclusive supportive team environment.
