We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager-Infection Prevention Control for a leading Nursing Home in Co Dublin.
Job Type: Full-time Permanent
Responsibilities
Support the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing in the daily management of the home.
Participate as a member of various teams when required including the Multidisciplinary Care Team Risk Management Team Incident Management Team and Infection Control Team.
Stay informed about current trends and developments through ongoing reading and professional learning.
Maintain strict resident confidentiality at all times. Resident information must only be shared within a professional context and only with the permission of the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing and in the residents best interest.
Motivate and guide team members by setting agreed goals and objectives and conducting performance reviews.
Manage care staff effectively and handle human resource matters appropriately.
Foster open communication positive working relationships and encourage initiative among the team.
Ensure all delegated care tasks are assigned appropriately considering each staff members experience competence role and scope of practice and in keeping with nursing principles.
Promote and maintain a restraint-free environment ensuring practices follow National Policy.
Address disciplinary or grievance issues in line with job descriptions organisational policies and procedures and professional codes of conduct.
Ensure staff maintain current knowledge and skills required to respond to and manage challenging behaviours.
Ensure staff receive appropriate training in safeguarding whistleblowing and the prevention detection and response to abuse.
Requirements
- Qualifications for Nursing
- Continuous membership in the Irish Nursing and Midwifery Board
- Graduate Study in Gerontology
- One year of experience as a clinical nurse manager is preferred.
- One year of IPC experience is preferred.
- Prior experience providing elder care
