We are hiring Clinical Nurse Specialist - Uro-Oncology(Part Time) into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
Provide highly specialised evidence-based nursing care to patients with urological cancers across the full continuum of care including diagnosis treatment follow-up and survivorship.
Act as a key clinical resource and advocate within the Urology Oncology Service supporting patients families and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) through complex clinical decision-making.
Undertake comprehensive holistic assessments (physical psychological social and spiritual) independently review patients and develop implement and evaluate individualised plans of care.
Coordinate and manage urology cancer pathways ensuring timely investigations follow-up MDT discussions and seamless communication across primary secondary and tertiary services.
Deliver advanced clinical decision-making including requesting investigations monitoring treatment response identifying complications and escalating or adjusting care in collaboration with Consultants and MDT members.
Provide highly skilled communication including breaking bad news discussing complex histology staging and treatment options and offering psychological and emotional support with empathy and professionalism.
Educate counsel and empower patients families and carers to understand their condition treatment choices and symptom management including referral to palliative care services when appropriate.
Lead and contribute to service development MDT meetings audit research and quality improvement initiatives in line with National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) guidelines and best practice.
Deliver specialist education training and clinical supervision to nursing medical and allied health staff acting as a role model and leader within uro-oncology nursing practice.
Maintain accurate clinical records patient registers and key performance data supporting audit research reporting and continuous improvement of uro-oncology services.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in good standing.
Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Practice with a focus on Urology or currently undertaking same.
Minimum of five years post-registration clinical experience.
Three to five years experience working in a urology clinical setting.
Demonstrated experience in the care of patients with oncological conditions.
Proven ability to practice autonomously within the Scope of Practice as defined by NMBI.
Excellent command of written and spoken English with strong clinical documentation skills.
Demonstrated teaching leadership professional judgement critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a dynamic clinical environment.
Ability to share specialist urology nursing knowledge and contribute to education and service
