About The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for fully qualified Social Workers to join a supportive and dynamic team at the Mater Hospital- North Sydney. The role involves:

  • Participating as a member of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensuring a high level of social work practice is maintained consistent with professional standards as defined by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Committing to ongoing professional development and teaching through research education and social work students.
  • Participating in strategic planning and quality improvement activities.
  • Participating in meetings of AASW Special Interest Groups and other groups of relevance to the delivery of a high-quality Social Work Service to patients at the Mater.
  • Areas of work include oncology palliative care renal ICU general medicine cardiac acute orthopaedics.
  • Ongoing Professional Development.

About You:

Essential requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Social Work.
  • Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience/expertise in hospital setting.
  • Maternity Experience.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that reinforce the core values of The Mater.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise where necessary.

Desirable Criteria

  • Ability to be flexible and dynamic with work hours.
  • Experience or interest in palliative care.
