The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one (1) regular limited term position in the class of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Coordinator at the Health and Human Services Agency department.
Under direction from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Administrator the EMS Program Coordinator assists in coordinating the development of County-wide emergency medical services plans policies and procedures; assists in administering the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the County; provides work direction to others; and performs other duties as required. The incumbents are responsible for overseeing and assisting in developing policies procedures and medical protocols as well as developing coordinating and administering training programs for emergency medical services personnel including paramedics emergency medical technicians nurses and physicians. Some incumbents in the position may function as the Regional Disaster Medical Health Specialist (RDMHS). The Regional Disaster Medical and Health Specialist (RDMHS) is the component of the Regional Disaster Medical and Health Coordination (RDMHC) Program that directly supports preparedness response mitigation and recovery activities for medical and public health events impacting California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) Mutual Aid Region IV.

Any combination of related education and experience that totals five (5) years is considered qualifying. A typical way to obtain this education and experience is:
Education:Sixty (60) college semester units or ninety (90) quarter units from an accredited college or university; AND
Experience:Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic in an emergency services / 9-1-1 setting.
Licensure: In addition to the education and experience this position requires possession of a valid California license as a Registered Nurse Paramedic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) EMT-Paramedic or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse is required.
Positions in this classification require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California drivers license Class C or higher to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.
Special Requirements:Willingness to work unusual hours including evenings weekends and holidays; and ability to travel within and out of the county including occasional overnight stays of one or more days.

For recent graduateswho have not received proof of their degree yet a letter from the registrars office stating that all requirements for graduation have been met and listing the field of study will be sufficient proof of graduation.

1. A written statement from a U.S. accredited university or college that states that the applicant is qualified for entrance to a program of graduate studies for which a degree in a related field is required.
2. An evaluation of the applicants degree and coursework equivalency by a private organization that provides foreign credential evaluation services. The evaluation must include a comparison of comparable U.S. courses for content credit and grade.
Note: Foreign language documents must include a precise word-for-word English translation of all foreign language documents. It is the responsibility of each applicant to prove to the satisfaction of the County that the applicant meets the specific requirements listed on the job announcement for each specific examination. Verification of Certification
Acceptable forms of certification and/or formal training documentation are certificates that list the applicants name institution name course title and date the certificate was awarded. If applicable the verifying documentation should include a certification/license number as well as an expiration date.
